Meet the Founder

Bridge Builders for Neurodiversity was founded out of a deeply personal journey. Our Executive Director, Latonya Carter, created the nonprofit while searching for resources and support for her at the time autistic six-year-old son. Despite her efforts, she found few spaces in the surrounding area that truly addressed the questions, challenges, and emotional needs she faced as a mother of a neurodiverse child.

From that gap, Bridge Builders was born—to offer connection, guidance, and advocacy for moms walking a similar path. Today, we are a growing community dedicated to uplifting and empowering families through shared experience, education, and support.
